Each transducer is labeled with letters and numbers which indicate its’ specific type and frequency. For example: 5C2 is a Curved array with a frequency range of 2 – 5 MHz, 7L3 is a Linear array with a frequency range of 3 – 7 MHz and so on.
These transducers are Hot-Swappable meaning several things: the transducer can be ejected from the system in one swift motion and another type of transducer put in its’ place and the system will recognize the new transducer, without having to restart the system or pause the software in any way, the system will remember the last exam performed with that transducer, and pull up that exam and presets in less than one second!! An example of this would be if you were in an emergency triage environment and you needed to do an Obstetrical exam then needed to move swiftly to an arterial exam. You would simply remove the 5C2 Curved Array from the unit and replace it with the 7L3 and the system will automatically pull up presets for a Linear Probe! With this unique feature you no longer have to adjust knobs and settings each time you change exams, you have the ability to select different exam presets at the touch of a button saving valuable time and money! With this windows based operating system the Hyperion software also allows you to jump from Carotid exam to Breast exam with a single touch!
The system has 128 physical channels send and receive giving you the highest resolution available in a portable system. The Hyperion 5C2 Curved Array is similar in element arrangement to a linear array except that the image created is a sector-type. The 4V2 Phased Array applies voltage pulses to all elements as a group but with small time differences (phasing). The time difference is changed each time so that the sound pulses will be sent out in different directions. The 4V2 Phased Array results in a sector image, but is not a circular arrangement of elements. With the versatility of the Hyperion system, each Linear Probe allows you to choose a viewable image format of Linear OR Sector and also allows you to control the width, size and lateral resolution of the acquired image and STILL gives you the superior image quality you want and need in a portable solution. |
